The planet Dummud is known for its peculiar lack of a solid surface. Instead, the entire world is covered by a vast layer of mud almost two kilometers thick, constantly moving due to convection, geothermal activity and high winds.
Despite this unusual property, Hemmoian Federation engineers wanted to colonize the planet. Two facilities were built, one of them hovering over the surface using powered MGD levitation, while the other was kept afloat by a series of pontoons. Tragically, the pontoon colony sank in the mud when it turned out the regular colonial supply ship was too heavy for the pontoons to support.
2050 consciousnesses were lost in this incident - of these, only a third had been back up copied in the Collective. Material losses were estimated at around 8 890 000 HFC, including the loss of several unique 21,8-grade magneto-ionization generator prototypes.
