This young Yellow-White Star is the central star of the Fomalhaut system, surrounded by a protoplanetary dust disk which is in the process of forming planets. The disk which is rich with comets and asteroids shows bulks caused by a gas giant.
The star is blazing through hydrogen at such a furious rate it has only a lifespan of about 1 billion years. Complex life probably cannot form in this time.
