Grand Admiral (GA)
The rank of Grand Admiral is a rank bestowed upon a well-decorated Fleet Admiral of the GA Military by the President of the alliance at the beginning of a new term in office. The rank of Grand Admiral is a rank above Fleet Admiral in the GA Military. The Grand Admiral answers directly to the Gigerdi Alliance Military Joint Chiefs of Staff and the President. The position of a Grand Admiral lasts as long as the term of a presidency does, which is then replaced by a new Admiral. President Armand Y. Marick made a controversial, yet historical decision when he selected Grand Admiral Erwin Lerev to continue his position as the Grand Admiral after President Dalleer.
The Grand Admiral oversees and coordinates the entire fleet operations of the Military Fleet Force, and often assists the General of the GA Ground Forces as well in planning ground operations. The current flagship of the Grand Admiral is the GAS Crimson Reaper.
