Hypersentience Federal Armed Forces

One of the three branches of the Hemmoian Federation military, along with the IHSF and the IPSF. The Clone Army is deployed whenever a space-based approach is insufficient and planetary military action is needed.

Doctrine

The military doctrine of the HFedAF relies on a strategy known as the Full Orbital Drop-In. This means that instead of focusing on taking and holding planetary infrastructure belonging to the enemy, the Federal Armed Forces aim to establish a logistical chain composed entirely of facilities dropped in from orbit.

A planetary campaign is typically led by one or several Continental Siege Units (CSUs), similar in role to the Bacterian Fortress class motherships. Before initiating planetfall, this massive craft has typically performed a full scan of the planet surface, indicating the locations of mineral resources. At this point the CSU may also launch a number of ballistic missiles, taking out key enemy installations.

Once the Siege Unit has established a Ground Command, Mobile Refinery Platforms (MRPs) are then launched and a raw materials supply chain established based on the CSU's orbital surveys.

History

Transformation

When the Independent Hypersentience state became the Hemmoian Federation, all IH military organizations were restructured accordingly. The Independent Hypersentience Clone Army was renamed the Hemmoian Clone Army and reshaped into a full spectrum warfighting organization with the capacity for both defensive and offensive operations, with enough manpower to provide a credible deterrent to other galactic superpowers (namely the Gigerdi Alliance and the Bacterian Empire.)

Hemmoian Civil War

The Clone Army was heavily deployed during the Hemmoian Civil War in attempts to quell planetary rebellions. Ironically, Tooled Hemmo I, the former home of the Independent Hypersentiences, saw the Clone Army subjugating the citizens of the world it was established to protect. The Siege of Unity City was one of the many prolonged urban conflicts that took place all over the Federation.

Divisions

The Hemmoian Federation does not maintain different branches of conventional ground-based militaries, such as a Navy or an Air Force, as separate entities; all planetary operations are handled by different divisions of the Federal Army. These divisions are detailed below.

Ground Command

Based on a planetary command vessel, such as a Nomeder or Agglomerator class Continental Siege Unit, Ground Command is responsible for the coordination of a planetary scale military campaign.

Infantry Reserves

The footsoldiers of the Federal Army, the troopers of the Infantry Reserves can be of several different types, organized in a number of Reserves.

The Primary Reserve is composed of entirely synthetic android soldiers, making up the vast majority of Federal Army forces. These combat synthetics have enhanced strength, endurance and agility. Additionally, their tactical neural processors can process battlefield data at a much higher rate than ordinary soldiers.

The Secondary Reserve is composed of genetically engineered clones grown in HFed military research facilities. In addition to their altered genotype, they have been fitted with the latest combat gear, cybernetic implants, and powered armor, and are entirely incapable of life outside the battlefield.

The Reserves have a wide range of insertion equipment available to them, from the light Rennovak class landing ships to heavier troop carriers.

Heavy Mechanized

Heavy hitters of the Army, with robotic tanks, armored personnel carriers and military walkers such as the Overlord Mk.I. Some Heavy Mechanized Divisions also employ various battle droids and robotic infantry, as well as amphibious vehicles.

Artillery

Long range missile and ballistic attack divisions, used in the event an orbital IHSF strike fleet cannot provide fire support for whatever reason. The DSR4000 "Devastator" Mobile Artillery Platform is a mainstay in these divisions.

Aerospace Operations

The goal of Aerospace Operations Divisions is to maintain air superiority and keep the airspace between low orbits and the surface clear. They are equipped with various types of aircraft and aerial drones.
