Jump to navigationJump to searchBroadly and most universally defined, life includs all patterns which work (at least within their standard environment) to maintain their own existence of the existence of similar patterns. It has also been suggested (although the boundaries are somewhat fuzzier) that viruses, and maybe prions and self-replicating artificial constructs such as computer viruses, Artificial Intelligences, and robots could qualify as life.
