MedTec is the medical research & development sub-division of the SMOY Corporation, heavily involved in various pharmaceutics and biotechnology operations.

MedTec was instrumental in solving the Gamma Plague crisis on Bacterius. During this time, Hemmo Paskiainen himself assumed a position as the "representative" of the company, taking much of the credit for its work and further solidifying his status as the de facto political leader of the Hemmoian Federation. The actual company head at the time was Retrac 207 Krub.
