Rilet Philharmonics
The Rilet Philharmonics, comprising 97 players, is one of Rilet sector's foremost symphony orchestras.
Founded during the Great Chaos some time after the connection with the UO homeworld was severed, and maintained since by the Republic of Rilet, the orchestra’s initial reputation for competence as a professional orchestra was built up during the 37 years it was conducted by Oljik Jennol. Since then the orchestra has distinguished itself through its performances of Riletian music, Hemmoian classics as well as traditional Orcish pieces. Bold and pioneering programme design was the trademark of artistic director Ik 30 Foneet, who later came to replace Jennol.
During the winter season there is a series of symphony concerts and a chamber music series in afternoons once a month. The orchestra also acts as an opera and ballet orchestra twice a year and plays regularly at the Rilet Biennale contemporary music festival.
Educational projects and other happenings for young listeners are also one of the characteristics of the Rilet Philharmonics. The orchestra has also made international concert tours apart from the Hemmoian Federation to the Inter-Planetary Alliance, UOE, Gigerdi Alliance, and the UCP.
