Jump to navigationJump to searchA type Be star, central component of the SS 2883 system. Surrounded by a vast dust ring and orbited by a stellar companion, a pulsar by the name of PSR B1259-63. The pulsar's orbit takes it through SS 2883's dust ring twice every 3.4 standard years, producing a display of X-ray and Gamma ray fireworks.
