Whiteout

Whiteout is a temporary physiological effect suffered by pilots of spacecraft without inertial dampers during high-G acceleration maneuvers. It is a loss of vision caused by blood rushing towards the back of the pilot's head, away from their eyeballs. This situation can be remedied by using artificial high-G resistant eye implants or with inertial damping fields.

The opposite of whiteout is redout.
