Gigerdi Federation Aerospace Command
The Gigerdi Federation Aerospace Command (or GFAC) is the predecessor of the Gigerdi Alliance Strategic Command. In other words, the GFAC served as the planning and leading body of the entire military in its' operations. What should be noted, however, is that the GFAC of the time did not have control over planetary operations i.e. ground invasions during its' founding. These duties were handled by the Gigerdi Federation Ground Operations Command, or GFGOC.
Later on, after the GF had considerably enlarged its' territories, the GFGOC was merged with the GFAC. This fusion of two branches happened well before the war against the H'vos. In many ways, the GFAC despite being an archaic organization by today's standards, was much more linear in its' chain of command, and thus managed to divert most of the useless bureaucracy present in many of the GA's strategic organizations of today. What is also interesting to note, is that the name GFAC managed to survive in its' original form from the very first decades that the Gigerdian species reached space and begun colonization of space to the very end of the Gigerdi Federation.
The GFAC was originally created as the command structure for the Gigerdian military forces in space, under the flag of the Gigerdi Federation. Back in those days, there was also a command structure for the regular, much more primitive "land army" on Gigerdi Prime at that time. This land army, too, evolved, and eventually grew into the GFGOC.
