Horius
Ownership: HFed/UOE
System: First Star system, inmost planet
RSA designation: RSA-002-1
Type: Vacuum ball (Chthonian world)
Location: Delta Quadrant
Horius is the First Star system's first major planet - and its smallest. It is an atmosphereless ball of rock tidally locked to its central sun, meaning one side is constantly in the dark while the other one receives all the light. As a result, the dark side is in a constant state of deep freeze while the light side is boiling hot - especially since there is no atmosphere to normalize the temperature.

Environment
The tiny world is the ultimate desert; dusty, dry, and blasted by the primary. It's perfect for working on your tan. A notable feature on the planet surface is a gigantic impact crater that marks the light hemisphere.
Its surface is covered with impact craters, evidence of the battering it has taken from space rocks drawn in by the sun’s massive gravity. The planet’s violent history has worked to break up the world’s rocks and ensure its surface is covered in dust.
History
Establishment
Horius was the site of the first UO space colony in 1,3640.
Horius I Mineral Resource Storage finished construction in 1,3642.6.
Population of colony spontaneously disintegrated in 1,3700 due to unforeseen long term side effects of teleportation. The catastrophe resulted in the Teleportation Prohibition Act.
Under Ho'kan rule
Ho'kan aggressors took over the abandoned colony later and used it as a base of operations from 1,3700 to 2,210. As Horius has the highest density of heavy metals in the First Star system after Orceron, the focus of economic activity was mining and solar power. With the construction of an Mudai AM Generation Array around the First Star, the planet also became a shipping port of antimatter for the Ho'kan Empire.
Since the world is desolate and sparsely inhabited, it was ideal for hiding certain activities from prying eyes, and housed some clandestine intelligence facilities. It was also the site of a Ho'kan prison colony for undesirable subjects of the Empire, who were commonly used as labourers.
An artificial magnetoshield was constructed some time during this period, and atmospheric habiforming was underway when the V3 Alliance collapsed.
Later history
With the collapse of the V3, the world was reintegrated into the United Orcs. Artificial atmosphere generation was finalized during the Hypersentience Era.
Economy
Given the vast amounts of iron, nickel, and other metals to be had here, mining is not surprisingly the world's chief economic activity.
After its vast mineral wealth, Horius's most abundant resource is the First Star. Nearly every fabricated horizontal surface on the planet is covered with high efficiency solar cells. Solar power is the stalwart of the planetary energy economy (though Helium-3 is also produced for local use).
