Orbeus 6 system

Also known by the name CCSymilplmotsi among some Orcs, the Orbeus 6 system is both the home of the Ollapukkitian Commonwealth as well as the command system of the entire Hemmoian Federation.

The system has a large amount of small wandering bodies of rock and ice with unstable orbits; some of these are routinely captured by the larger planets. This results in each planet of the system possessing up to ten moons at any given time.

Security

The Orbeus 6 system is one of the most heavily fortified star systems in the Galaxy, with hundreds of IHSF subfleets on patrol at any given time.

History

Ollapukkitian Era

The system was the sole property of the emerging Ollapukkitian civilizations for hundreds of thousands of years. Once they developed space travel, they expanded their influence to the complex moon system of Ollapukkiti Prime, but never saw the need to expand further. After all, the moons were plentiful with natural resources, sufficient for the nations of the Ollapukkitian Commonwealth for thousands of years to come.

However, unknown to the Ollapukkitians, another sentient species was about to move into the system.

Arrival of the United Orcs

After the Great Cataclysm of Orceron, what was left of the United Orcs were stranded in the cold of the cosmos, without a homeworld.

For almost two years, the NODE Fleet systematically explored, observed, scanned and recorded from system to system in the Orbeus cluster. Widespread demoralization was already setting in as NODE-1 finally reported a possible candidate in the Orbeus 6 system, on the opposite side of the Orbeus Core. Provisionally code named "planet number 3758220", although not perfect, the world had sufficient surface gravity and an atmosphere that could be turned breathable with proper work. This planet would eventually be known as Aldaain.

Colonization & First Contact

After the first survey expeditions, a colony was firmly established on Aldaain and the starships of the Home Fleet began unloading their refugees.

A startling discovery was made in 2,??? when alien transmissions were picked up from a nearby world. Relations between the Ollapukkitian Commonwealth and the United Orcs were soon established, and a mutual partnership treaty was negotiated. The Commonwealth eventually became an autonomous member of the Union.

Final Defense of Aldaain

First Bacterian War

In the First Bacterian War, worlds of the Orbeus 6 system were either under siege or occupied like Ollapukkiti Prime by elements of the I Imperial Bacterian Purification Fleet Holy Fire, led by Pavonidas the Bacterian.

Peace Station Era

As the United Orcs government collapsed in 3,131, the system was again briefly left without a ruler. Soon, however, the Independent Hypersentiences declared the territory as their protectorate. When the Hemmoian Federation was founded soon afterwards and Aldaain selected as the capital world, the Orbeus 6 system became the command system of the entire Federation.

Second Bacterian War

Aldaain was attacked again by the Bacterian Empire during the Second Bacterian War. As the Bacterian invasion force was suffering losses from the newly assembled IHSF fast-response defensive fleets, the Bacterian strategy changed. They retreated into interstellar space to regroup for a few days, and it was hoped that having met their match, they would cease their hostilities. But as their forces started moving again their intentions became crystal clear - the invasion fleet was heading directly towards Orbeus 6, the location of Aldaain.

In a gritty showdown between two superpowers, the IHSF fleet moved in defensive positions around their command world, while the entire Bacterian attack fleet "fell upon them like an endless black rain emerging from the jumpgates", as a Hemmoian fleet admiral described the scene. Both sides suffered heavy losses, and the surface of Aldaain was partially bombed to ruins, but the Hemmoians emerged from the conflict as winners.

Third Bacterian War

The Orbeus 6 system was once again the target of Bacterian aggression in 3,168 when the Third Bacterian War started. Instead of attempting a full frontal assault, a Bacterian fleet disintegrated Aldaain-8, the eighth moon of Aldaain.
