Quark
From Peace Station Encyclopedia
Jump to navigationJump to searchQuarks are the fundamental particles of hadronic matter such as protons, neutrons and mesons. Protons and neutrons are each composed of three quarks.
Quarks are fermions and as such, interact via the strong force (also referred to as the "color force"). Their respective antiparticles are known as antiquarks. Quarks exist in six flavors: Up, Down, Strange, Charmed, Bottom and Top.
