Xenolinguist

A xenolinguist is a linguist who exclusively studies alien languages. In the current age of galactic co-operation, linguists who limit themselves strictly to the study of the languages of their own species are a rarity; it may be said the majority of scientists in the field of linguistics are xenolinguists.
