The V3 Alliance was the successor state to the Ho'kan Empire, a coalition of worlds colonized by non-UO Orceronian factions.

History

Foundation

Formed in the Vorek system by the three starpowers known as the Ho'kan Empire, the Burning Sea Republic and the Xaron Consortium, the new interstellar government became known as the V3 Alliance. Initially, it was a treaty of convenience, as the member states had little in common - except for their common enemy, the United Orcs.

Unification

Eventually the V3 Alliance would evolve into an efficient authoritarian bureaucracy with fanatic militarist tendencies, unified under Emperor Hortius.

The V3 considered it the absolute right of the state to decide where its citizens lived and worked. This did not apply to Burning Sea or Xaron worlds, who still held a degree of autonomy.

Final Defense of Aldaain

Full article: Final Defense of Aldaain

To bring a decisive end to the V3 War, a V3 Doomsday Fleet was mobilized against Aldaain. The heart of the fleet was the powerful V3 Flagship, virtually indestructible. Together, the fleet had enough firepower to glass an entire continent; but the primary weapon of the Flagship was the experimental Planet Eater Array. The main source of power for this dimensional burst weapon were massive generators located on the surface of Xalan, the V3 homeworld. In a gruesome example of total war, the entire world had been turned into a generator for the terrible weapon, with focusing arrays orbiting the world as satellites.

The UO mounted a desperate offensive against the Doomsday Fleet, known as the Final Defense of Aldaain. Orcish spies managed to infiltrate and eventually disable the Flagship, with assistance from UOSF and UOCM forces. With the Flagship destroyed, the Dimensional Gateway collapsed, but a destructive burst of energy had already been sent from Xalan through the conduit. This caused a massive feedback burst of disruptive energy to emerge from the Xalan Gateway, overloading the subterranean generators and orbital focusers - resulting in the destruction of the entire world. In essence, the V3 Alliance had erased itself from existance.

Annexation

Although Aldaain was saved, the high-energy transdimensional event caused a cascading failure of subspace communications relays in the thousands of star systems within the UO sphere of influence. Colonies were left in the dark, not knowing whether Aldaain had been destroyed or not. This new dark age became known as the Great Chaos, as the UO splintered into hundreds of independent colonies and coalitions.

The colonized worlds of the V3 similarly fell into disarray. During the period known as the Great Chaos, they were eventually annexed by the United Orcs in the Unity Flight.

Economy

Most of V3 fiscal and natural resources went towards the military, leaving little for domestic development.

Military

The V3 military's primary tactics primarily relate to the implementation of vicious, rapidly sweeping surgical strikes reliant on the element of surprise, focusing almost completely on offensive based strategies. For defense, the V3 relied on automated patrol drones.

When the Alliance was established, its military arm became known as the V3 Mobile Space Asset Force (V3MSAF). It was primarily based on integrated fleets from the Ho'kan Space Attack Force (HSAF) and XarConSec. Later, completely new ships were developed for the MSAF.

Territories

At the peak of its height, the Alliance controlled many star systems.
