Marillius Brett

Engineering Assistant Marillius Brett was a Human serving aboard the GFS Koff. He worked under the supervision of Chief Engineer Mador Lobis, who he was also friends with. The ship's officers, captain Devin Felth and commander Gar Varin, often had to remind the two of the ship's priorities since Marillius and Mador were often caught playing cards at work.

After the ship had visited the Peace Station, the course was set for Gigerdi Prime: Marillius once again neglected his job of checking the Tachyon Relays on the engineering deck. Commander Gar Varin checked the relays himself, and when he requested information on Brett's whereabouts when he was supposed to be working, Brett informed him that "he didn't have the time to check them out".

After the ship's engines and the entire reactor started to malfunction, Marillius called the commanding officers up from the bridge to go and assess the situation themselves. As captain Felth and commander Verin entered the engineering deck, a huge explosion originating from the reactor core ripped the entire section into threads. As the entire ship fell into complete chaos, Brett was the first one to suggest abandoning the ship: the only problem was, that the ship's lifeboats had also been destroyed by the destruction.

Despite all this, Marillius along with the rest of the crew were saved at the eleventh hour. During the preliminary hearings concerning the GFS Koff's unfortunate accident, Marillius was asked if he had been the one mostly responsible for the possibility of a malfunction, he replied "I most certainly didn't do it. Most Certainly."
