Battle of Orbeus-6

The Battle of Orbeus-6 was a fleet combat action between forces of the United Orcs Starfleet and the Imperial Bacterian Navy in the Orbeus-6 system that took place in the opening stages of the First Bacterian War.

As a result of the battle, Overhemmo 401 was able to escape Ollapukkiti Prime aboard the Accordant 01.

Stages of the battle

First salvos

As the Siege of Aldaain was started by a surprise attack launched from the Bacterian fortress ship Hammer Revelation, UO military command soon realized they were witnessing an Anvilstrike situation. Based on flash analysis of local force dispositions, UOSF Task Force Orbeus was ordered to initiate Response Plan Blue Zero.

The heavy cruiser Skullbasher of Akranik became the first UOSF warship to engage Bacterian forces in the First Bacterian War over Aldaain. Although a top of the line warship, the Skullbasher was quickly destroyed by the Bacterian aggressors along with its sister ship, the UOSF Grummor Steamroller.

Evacuation of the Overhemmo

While the military situation was escalating, a complete evacuation of government functionaries was attempted according to plan. The Overhemmo, while on a diplomatic mission on Ollapukkiti Prime, was escorted to a shuttle departing for the express transport Accordant 01 waiting in orbit.

Before the shuttle was docked, the Bacterian juggernaut Scourge of Tugrus arrived in orbit and began destroying orbital UO assets. To protect the Overhemmo a group of five ships launched a coordinated assult on the juggernaut, while the Accordant powered up its FTL drive and escaped. These were the destroyer United Guardian, heavy carrier Roar of Truth, and cruisers xxx, xxx and xxx.
