The Creation of The Gigerdi Federation

After the fall of the Council of The Wise, which also ended the petty internal strife among the Gigerdians, the entire race was unified under the flag of the Gigerdi Federation. The driving goal behind the creation of this first interstellar governmental form, was the simple goal of reaching nearby solar systems and colonizing/exploring them. The Gigerdian race understood, that in order for it to survive, it had to expand deep into space and form communities of its own far away from Gigerdi Prime.

Naturally there were small pockets of resistance (primitive tribes), that disagreed with the Gigerdi Federation's cause of unification through space exploration. The Gigerdi Federation used swift methods of pacification to overcome these violent protesters, and thus quickly controlled over 95% of the entire planet's communities and settlements. The Gigerdi Federation also succeeded in turning the governmental propaganda machine against these separatists, and thus the general opinion quickly turned against them.

On September 2nd 2134, the former national states of the Gigerdians were disbanded, and a new method of leadership was introduced: the race was to be led by an emperor along with a senate. After this reform, the Gigerdian space program was greatly boosted by governmental and private efforts to fund and construct starships and facilities for the colonization efforts. As the first starships, launched by the government, reached Gigerdi Prime's moon, the entire race started to quickly realize their true fate in the galactic playground: with hard work and sheer effort, anyone willing to make a grab for land could reach it among the stars.

Colonial expansion

Main article: Colonial Expansion of the Gigerdi Federation

As the Gigerdian government sent colonization ships into far away systems as well as nearby ones, private "colonists" also packed their bags, and either constructed or bought a ship of their own for the trip.

Millions of Gigerdians left their homeworld for the first time to build a home of their own in the stars: as these Gigerdians eventually reached their destinations, they set up small settlements that eventually grew into modern, gigantic colonies. Since the Gigerdian colonization efforts employed millions upon millions of Gigerdians, both in the governmental/commercial and private fields, the expansion was quite fast. The problem was, however, that the private colonists weren't always that willing to share their areas with others: thus a completely new problem to the Gigerdi Federation emanated from deep space.

As a small amount of colonies set up by private colonists started to fight over resources in the same system with other colonists, the GF had to act. This sometimes resulted into harsh, fascist police actions to maintain public order in the fighting colonies. The Liberation of the Delubian Blockade is an excellent example of this, and it also shows that the GF did not completely live up to its founding basis, that can best be described as enlightened socialism.

First contacts & New Territories

One of the earliest, if not the very first contact with another race that the Gigerdians witnessed, were the Humans. This contact proved to be a rather successful one, since both of the races were peaceful and willing to negotiate very large trade pacts with each other. The races also seemed to share a rather pleasant sense of brotherhood with each other, due to currently unknown reasons. The discovery of the Humans also helped speed up the colonization efforts even more. Also, the Gigerdians made contact with several other races through the Humans, such as the Vemrers, Folans, Lihters and many more.

During this time, the GF had to fight the Vodoss-Pirate wars on its new shipping lanes which stopped the operation of criminal elements in them and also created a non-aggression pact between the GF and the Dand government. The GF was quickly reinforcing its status as one of the rising starpowers in the Milky Way Galaxy.

The H'vos War, The Bacterian Encounter and The era of the Peace Station

The biggest conflict that the GF had to take part in, was undoubtedly the H'vos War. This campaign was, for the first time, a purely offensive and defensive campaign, that saw the Gigerdians pitted against an aggressive species bent on conquest through powerful military campaigns. Luckily however, the Gigerdians won the campaign against the H'vos through cunning tactics and technological superiority. The H'vos as a race also quickly disappeared after their defeat.

It took about a hundred years after the H'vos War for the GF to see real action again. This time, the boldly grown Gigerdian species responded to an unknown distress signal, that ended up turning into a first contact situation with the Hemmoians and Bacterians. This also resulted into border skirmishes between the GF and the Bacterians, that were relatively short-lived. These border skirmished were small when compared to the First Bacterian War that was raging at that time.

After the First Bacterian War, the Peace Station Interspecies Treaty was forged between the Gigerdians, Bacterians and Hemmoians. This resulted into the Peace Station Project.

The end of the old Gigerdi Federation & The Beginning of the Reformed Federal State

During the Peace Station's first year, the disintegration of the GF started to roll forward as the Gigerdian monarchy's last member, Emperor Ogaitinsha was dying of old age. A small group of Gigerdian politicians disagreed with the way the monarchy was to be continued, and even accused the government of acting against the constitution. This resulted into the secession of several colonies and governmental officials from the GF, and forming their own government under the flag of the Gigerdi Confederation. As emperor Ogaitinsha died, the new heir to the throne, Mad Gigerdi also vowed to continue the heir of the Gigerdi Federation. The Gigerdi Federation thus continued under a new and slightly modified form of government, but still remained as the official Gigerdian governmental body all the way until the end of the Timocracy War.
